FBMW: Mid Ohio

I'm extremely sorry about the lap 1 chaos in the keyhole. :( I just got caught out in the braking zone and lost control, and I apologize to anyone that was affected by it.

Congrats to the podium.

For me this was a good battle during the first 5 laps from 15th to 10th racing real close to each other, but racing that close means having contact so this time I have to apologize to some drivers:

- Lap 4: Scott Michaels, for not braking early enough and trying to gain the inner of the turn with no room for it, therefore pushing you out of the track.

- Lap 4: Alan Strang, for punting in a turn due to my slightly later braking point.

- Lap 5: Robert Buijtenhuis, for turning his car upside down (I only realised this after watching the replay). This time I could brake in time to avoid contact, but I was myself punted and lost control crashing Robert. I feel very sad about this one.

Really sorry for that. I'll accept any claims for those incidents.

From then on it was impossible to regain the 6 positions lost in that latter incident, so I could only finish 15th.

I hate this track. Not much more to say really.

Enjoyed my first race. Shame I made 2 mistakes and had to take 51 secs pit stops.

What can I say :). Came out of a Race07 Radicals race and jumped into this server. Had to look for 5 minutes before the server as it was invisible again :(.
Had no practice at all and just used my teammate's setup with personal tweaks (thanks for set Nick). Only knew Mid Ohio from the few lasp I did with a Champcar, and these cars are a bit different :P.
Just before the end I grabbed pole unexpectatly.

Had a good start and the car was right on the edge of spinning out as I made maybe 10-15 corrections while starting. Had a good battling with Jack for the first few laps, side by side after the 3 corner after the back straight. In the end I couldn't hold him behind and could just keep up with him, losing only very little a lap and I had to wait and hope for an error, but he was very consistent and won deserved.

Even though i got mashed on lap 1 (see picture, blue and white car is me :D) i still enjoyed lapping 2, 3 laps down :P, its 1 of those tracks that you will love if you can get to grips with it. Cheers for the race. np sandeep, im used to it :P wd evryone!

Got caught up in the turn 1 crash and the damage pretty much ended my hopes for a top 10, costing me about 2 seconds a lap. Decided to stay out rather than pit as I expected the stop to take at least a minute.

I managed to work out a way to drive around the damage after a few laps and was able to lap low 1m30s which was only a second off my normal race pace but then got disconnected just as I was starting to catch a few cars.

Waste of a weeks practising at a track that I really started to enjoy, at least I made no errors for a change!

Well better than I expected in qual and fancied just settling in and seeing what happened.

Knew Jack and Jeff were too quick for me, so instead had a cracking battle with Steve, with two or three position changes and never more than a second between us most of the race.

Span on penultimate lap but enough gap to fifth to be safe fortunately.

Enjoyable track for me anyway and almost seemed tougher in these than the Champcars last Saturday.

Shame our co sponsor Dave McRoberts is having connection issues, hope you are back on track next week Dave!

I was fast in practice, but in qual I had a lot of mistakes so I started 9th.

I was involved in the accident of the first lap, so I lost a lot of time and some positions. I had nice battles in first laps with Francisco, John Bayes and Alex Fed (I think I would have needed another lap to overtake you :P )

It was a very fun race, I had a lot of battles in all the race :D

Those are fighting words, Scott. :-)

Come to the 'States to drive it and I will have you over for a beer and kick in the backside for saying that. :-)
