Well that was my first Champ Car race. I loved the way the car handles. Especially under braking. Very smooth. I had a very decent race. Just don't know why i couldn't find the speed. Runnin a second faster in practice with the same setup. But anyways tough aero push on this track like others stated. Pretty intense. Felt alot like Stock cars at Daytona. I do have one question for you frequent CCWS racers. Did you guys run a 1 stop race? I ran a 2 stopper but the tires were excellent all day. Just curious if you all ran a 1 stop. Because it seemed very possible here. Again it was great fun and hope to run some more events in the future. Well done podium. You guys were mighty fast.

Blew my engine in Qual getting a little over-exuberent with the boost button. Was pleased with 4th.

Followed Dennis for half a lap before he span exiting Moss hairpin. Caught and tried to set about chasing Aubrey. Got distracted by a crawling car through the superfast kink at the end of the Andretti straight and clipped the inside curb. Fortunately was near the pits so the limp back was short. Dropped to 16th and was now 2 laps down.

Followed David Bullet for a couple of laps, he was a bit dangerous to follow so I decided to hang back and wait for the inevitable mistake. Unfortunately, after letting a gaggle of leading lap cars through I misjudged Alex Fed's braking distance into Moss hairpin. Tried to slam on and avoid him but clipped him into a spin. Truely sorry for that Alex it was a silly mistake.

I stalled when I hit the gravel trap and despite trying to see if I could bump start the car I took the DNF. Was a shame to really because I had a competitive setup and I felt my strategy was strong enough to challenge Aubrey.

Crashed hard in Q because of previous mentioned person.
Was just hoping for a top ten, but thats beside the point.
Love this track except for the right hander.
Couldn't really race anyone because of the aero, just
followed people in the beginning then ran alone for a
while, then the inevitable.

It is not your fault Stanislav. Do not worry about the DNF... I hope you get better luck next time ;)...And regarding the above mentioned racer, he was told not to chat during qualy and/or race and he did, but the admins will take care of that.

To the admins, is the "Min Rank" going to be changed since there's already a "Novice" series?

As for my race? Bad luck!...

That was our best race this season, I think! Having a few cars on a 1-stop strategy really mixed things up. I didn't really have a problem with anyone, except for the occasional chat, and one car that was swerving with some kind of mechanical problem.

I was surprised by the 1-stoppers. It didn't seem possible to me, and I was running relatively low wing. But I should have known something was up, when I was able to keep George in touch in the early laps. Held station behind him until I hit the wall trying to avoid that swerving car on the front straight. It didn't do any significant damage, but I forgot to tell the crew not to fix it, and I lost about 7 seconds when I pitted.

After George pitted he passed me again when I had some trouble in the hairpin, but I caught him again on the next straight with a huge speed difference. Guess he was saving fuel at that point. I figured he had more to lose than I did, so he would let me thru- and he did. But it was exciting anyway, just to go screaming into a fast corner side-by-side like that!

Then I pitted again and just brought it home for 2nd place. Not bad.

Considering my usual differnece between qualification and race positions I could expect a better result from myself today. But even without my unnecessary mistakes I hardly could hope to finish more than one position higher. I guess, a 1 pit strategy was not a good idea here.

I don't know if aeropush in CCWS is realistic but I like it. It makes racing more challenging.

I would also appresiate changing "Min Rank" for this series. Even novices would win from this very soon because a novice period is relatively short and then they too will be interested in racing with those who don't make trivial mistakes at unexpected moments.

Huge apologies to Dennis - I landed on grass and tried to avoid hitting a wall - unfortunately lost control and suddenly the car came back on track in the worst possible moment - half a second either way and everyone would be just fine :( Esced out after that cause it seemed like a too big of a gamble to try and navigate a damaged car to pits on a track like this - ruining two cars was more than enough for one race.

Great race for me for a change. Hadnt prepared for this at all and was more than surprised to qualify 6th.

Thought about doing a 1 stopper but stayed with 2 stopper. Seemed to have a good pace through race and wondered if a 1 stopper would have been better, still not sure! lol

After my second stop i was about 20secs behind chris melton and with about 5-7 laps? before the end he pitted and i got past and held on for a very respectable 4th.

What happened chris, was it a splash + dash or damage?

Big pat on back for myself :P this is the first champcar race for as long as i can remember without spinning and/or running with damage of some sort. Makes a nice change! :)
