Spa 500k

Eau Rouge got me again. Clipped the inside curb just before pit out and lost it. Tried to make it back around but found the wall again, killing my race. Played with packer settings all day just for this reason, but I obviously didn't find the right balance. Sorry Dean! Wished I could have brought it home for the last event.

Disco, what else. I was running 6th after my last pit stop and 12 laps left with decent buffer front and rear - I'm gutted.

What happened at the end? With about 15 minutes left I pit my car to help my wife with something, I come back and my car is facing the wrong direction halfway down the pit lane, with broken suspension! For cryin' out loud, I can't believe my whole race was wasted because someone wrecked me in the pit lane, in the last few minutes of the race! That just pisses me off. :(

If it's on down slope it may roll all by it's own - depending on your pit space position of course.

That doesn't explain the broken suspension which it didn't have when I pitted.

I'm just guessing here: I was thinking that it perhaps (if in such position) started rolling downslope and hit a wall breaking the suspension. Like I said I'm just guessing.

Hopefully there will be a race replay available, I want to see what actually happened. Hopefully I'm wrong about being wrecked by someone, that's just poor sportsmanship, especially in the pit lane.

Whoohoo I won the championship again! :) I'm a happy chap ;).

Qually just didnt go as always....I cant qualify with this car. Still got 3rd and that was enough for me.

Race went good, I took it easy, just following Ari and very easy with GT cars, sometimes a bit too easy and needed to close the gap to Ari again :). That was kinda all I did, making sure I kept whitin 2-3 sec of Ari and waiting perhaps for his mistake. In the first stint he did make one and I passed, but at that point I didnt want to be infront of Ari making the pace, so I let him pass again and following him once more.

Ari did very good pitstops and both times I needed to close an 8 sec gap, which I did but i didnt try to make a pass on him. Last stint I wanted a little bit more than 3rd so I pressured a bit more and well too bad for Ari he spun. I was surprised CJ was still within 8 sec of me, he prolly didnt push either until I reached him to 6 sec. But then I had a few GT cars I had to lap me and I took a bit too easy and I mistimed my braking :S Luckily it was only a reasonble small off I had, but I lost 10 sec to CJ and I decided to just bring it home in 2nd and not trying to be too eager and wanting too much ;). Grats to Enis & CJ for their wins.

Well offcourse Im glad I won my 3rd championship here! \0/
It was not easy, but I managed to be steady and scoring points in most races, even when it didnt go as planned.
I really hate NGT cars....I think I will not drive NGT in near future! :D GTR1 now can be deleted from my pc and tbh im releaved abit. GTR2 is the future. Talking about the future, I think Im gonna skip a season....yeah im sorry, but I alrdy have 2 leagues alrdy and doing too much isnt helping my speed either ;) I will do some GTX GT races!

Well thanks to Tim & co for making this league happen and all the guys offcourse racing! Grats to Steve for winning the championship! Well I dunno who else to thank......my daddy and mommy hahaha joking :)

PS. for picking the cars I think its better to ask Kent or Darin for their choice Tim.

First off thx Tim and Todd for making this happen. Congrats to champions Steve and Wilfred and congrats CJ on winning GT2.

Quali:
Qulified on pole but wasn't least bit satisfied with lap itself, just couldn't get clean lap together.

Race:
Started off nicely, opened up a gap of 15 s, then I started to loose time, mostly because of traffic. By the end of the stint 1 I had around 10 sec advantage, and then just before entering the pit I spun, D'OH. Lost about 7 sec there.

Done my pit stop, and started chasing Steve again. He also had a 3 stop strategy only he's was a bit different. There was a lotsa traffic out there again. when Steve exited his first stop I was 20 s ahead, that started melting rapidly, mainly because I lost a lot of time in traffic while Steve didn't. Couldn't believe my luck, everytime I came to lap someone it was on most difficult place, either Bus Stop or Eau Rouge, unbelivable. So it melted down from 20 to about 3 s when I entered pits.

Did my second pit stop, lost time as I had to go in reverse to exit pit stall (Tim was on the right and Sam in front). D'OH, stupid GTR bugs. In 3rd stint I did 2 stupid mistakes on entering La Source, in total lost about 4-6 s. When Steve exited his pit stop I was around 13 s ahead. That soon started to melt as he was on newer tires and I lost time in traffic again. Around lap 51 Steve got on my tail, I had scheduled pit in lap 54. Just as we were finishing lap 53 I spun in Bus stop, luckily car went straight into pits, LOL. Lap earlier than I wanted.

Last stop was good and I exited 3rd behind Conor. Overtook him lap later as I approached corner before Blanchimont at greater speed so he eased off. I already knew that Steve is now in better position, then I started counting how much time I lost on few silly mistakes, and was quite angry at myself. That appeared to be crucial when Steve exited his last stop, 7 laps before end, 3 sec ahead of me. Eventually, mid of lap 71 Steve lost it in Pouhon and I menaged to win it though. Mixed feelings for me, as I was sad for Steve losing it lap before end.

Wow. What a race, what a season, what a series!!!

First and foremost I want to extend my hand of thanks to Tim and Todd for making my sim racing SO MUCH FUN!! I also want to thank each and every one of you guys I see on track at each race; this wouldn’t be any fun without being around the kind of people you all are. I consider all of you not only some great sim racing drivers, but also my very good friends. The racing aside, you are all truly a pleasure to "hang out" with!

The race: should of, would of, could of got pole, but Enis put in a great lap, and I just couldn’t find the speed I had earlier. Settled of second on the grid. My plan was to take it pretty easy the first stint and see how the standing were at the end of the first stop. I was on a 3 stop strategy, but not 3 equal stops, I was going to run full and take tires on the first two stops and then come in for a splash and go with 6 or seven laps left.

Race started and Enis started pulling a gap, but I did not press the issue, I was running my pace I wanted to and still pulling away from third. Well as it turns out, I let Enis get too far ahead. First stop went just fine. Enis out in front and me following, although not very closely, in second. Second stop went just fine, and I realized that I needed to turn up the speed a bit, so I started going. Turned I think the fastest race lap while trying to catch Enis. Eventually I caught him, and he made a mistake in the Bus Stop and I got by to take the lead. Enis pitted for the final time while I continued on with my race plan. Pulled a good margin, but my math was telling me that it wasn’t quite as much as I would like. I came in for my third and final stop, splash and go, and I was off. Came out of the pits just in front of Enis with 5 laps to go. I ran as smooth as I could on my worn tires, managed to stay in front of Enis, and I think traffic may have helped that (not that traffic caused any problems, I just caught the traffic at better spots on the track). I managed to pull a 3 or 4 second gap to Enis coming up on the penultimate lap. And then, the worst thing I could do I do. I understeered right off the track in Pouhon. That is the second time at Spa that I have given the lead away on the last or second to last lap. I must be the worst "under pressure" driver EVER!. NO, Enis just drove a fantastic race, with a darn fast pace in the first half. I simply did not want to drive his pace, and I was lucky as snot to be in the position to win. Enis earned that win, and deservedly so.

Grats Enis! Great win.

Anyway, came home in second and secured the drivers championship – which is all I wanted to do.

Sam, you drove an incredible season in that POS Viper. You made that car do things no other person could. I congratulate you on a great season, and coming home in second in that Viper is quite amazing in my book. You made my work for it this season, and I thank you for that. I have (at least I think I have) improved quite a bit because of talented drivers like yourself.

Only scary moment was when I was coming through Blanchimont behind CJ (I was leading GT1 and he was leading GT2), I was pitting, but I don’t think CJ knew that. I was stupid and lined up to the left of CJ, and I think he expected me to stay there to go through the bus stop. Well I just about took us both out of the race as I swerved across the grass trying to get to pit lane as he was trying to go through the bus stop. No harm no foul, but I was clearly not thinking about where I needed my car to be. Sorry CJ, I am sure you were wondering what the heck I was trying to do!

I gotta go find me some Finlandia and party like its 1999!!! WOOO-freakin-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
