First Hannah, then Ike, then a tropical depression forming in front of tropical storm Jasmine or whatever its called. Us East coasters are in for a wet couple of weeks.

They are predicting Ike to hit as the strongest maybe even matching andrew to hit as a Cat 4 or 5 in southern florida then head into the Gulf northward.

Be careful out there guys!

I woke up to blinking clocks since heavy rain somehow knocked out power here last night. Woke me up at 4AM it was hammering the roof so hard. And Hanna hasnt even gotten here yet. So if you see my name signed up for an event but dont see me in qual today, I probably am keeping myself busy with a deck of cards or playing Hot Wheels with my son because of no power. The iPod and Nintendo DS are fully charged.

Good deal Bob, I'm up here in maine. We dont get the full force you guys get, but we always end up with high winds and heavy rain and trees laying everywhere.

Stay safe.

Hehe, the Weather Channel is running a shitload of heavy rain, flooding and hurricane force wind alerts on my local feed. Looks like 2PM EST today will be crunch time and last until 8PM EST Sunday. Nice way to get people panicky.

I am in Richmond, VA and Hanna is giving us some rain and a little wind right now. Hasn't been bad at all for us so far. The center is just southeast of here so I am sure people in that area are getting hit much harder...

I wonder what Ike will do, if it goes into the Gulf as they say and remain strong, poor New orleans.

Damn, we got 11 inches of rain (speculated, waiting for the level to stop rising from wherever it stands now)! Sounds like we're talking about snow. I dont know if my yard could stand anymore rain from these next few storms, especially Ike if it makes it's way up here. I have a brook now in my backyard that was never there before.

I'm down in the outer banks, N.C. for 2 weeks. The drive here yesterday was windy and a few showers, nothing to turn around for. Driving over the Chesapeke bay bridge was a little unnerving. 18 miles over the water...white knuckle driving!!!! 40-60 mph gust. I was happy to hit the tunnels!!!!! Looks like IKE will be hitting the gulf coast and the next 2....

Welcome to Global warming ... in CA we're seeing extended heat waves. Regardless of the cause, weather is changing more rapidly than I think us humans can adapt to.
