On Oct 1st, Comcast is implementing a new policy. Seems they are planning on capping Internet usage on their network. That's almost like going to an all you can eat buffet and getting kicked out when you go up for your 4th plate full. You're getting less than what you thought you were paying for. Comcast has been by far the fastest and most reliable Internet service I have ever had. But WTF? I'm sure what I use the 'net for is not going to be impeded by this, but it will defintely affect some customers. I plan on contacting my state's attorney general. At the very least it's just another attempt to limit file sharing. If they get the green light to do this, all ISPs will follow, and quite possibly could pave the way for further and tougher restictions down the road. |

They know we can't live without it and hence, are willing to pay big dollars for it. This will likely get expensive if all jump on board. |

Yup. Formerly Comcast, now Time Warner, they are doing the same crap. A few weeks ago, Barry turned me on to RaceingUnderground to get racing by torrent. I got a few races downloaded over 2 days, and suddenly, my conn is like dial-up for several hours after. When it cleared up, I went and got 2 more race (WTCC) and low and behold, connection went to shit again. Call them up and ask what's up, and get the "we're not aware of any problems" line. Haven't touched it for near 3 weeks and no conn problems at all. Amazing. Their whole deal is wanting to force you to order their expensive cable and not download movies and such. What I'm downloading, nobody will ever see here in the states anyway, but still have to pay the price. Bunch of cheesedicks. |
