I would run any of the following if they're ready:

P&G V2
rHistorx updated to work with R2P
NAGT

I don't think P&G or Historx will be ready, so my best guess at this point is that we'll be running NAGT for Season 10. Tim is planning on two official R2P series, a sprint and an intermediate format. I'd like to run a little longer and require pitstops, use the real series tracks as much as possible, and prohibit duplicate cars in each race.

More to follow, I'll investigate the track schedule and draft up the rules.

This tentative schedule emulates the 2006 season, omitting Infineon and Miller Motorsports Park:

Oct 5 - Mobil 1 12hrs of Sebring
Oct 19 - Honda Grand Prix of St Petersburg
Oct 26 - Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Nov 2 - Trenton Forging Quality Formed Solutions Mid Ohio
Nov 9 - Generac 500 at Road America
Nov 22 - Grand Prix of Mosport
Dec 7 - Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta
Dec 14 - Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca

Race format will be 50 minutes, formation lap with standing start, 2x fuel (thus forcing a pit stop). The Sebring and Road Atlanta events will be time-scaled to include some night driving.

Championship points awards will match the actual series (providing it isn't too much of a pain for Tim): 110, 100, 92, 85, 80, 76, 72, 68, 64, 60, 57, 54, 51, 48, 45, 43, 41, 39, 37, 35, 33, 31, 29, 27, 25, 23, 21, 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

No duplicate cars will be allowed in any race. Following signup, drivers should post their car preferences in the prerace forum; car assignment will be made in reverse championship standings order the Friday before each race, excepting the first race, in which assignment order will be by random draw. After assignment, a list of assigned and available cars will be maintained in the pre-race forum; drivers that did not participate in the selection process must claim an available car by posting in the pre-race forum, on a first-come first-served basis.

How's that sound?

Making it an official R2P series would depend on how comfortable Tim is with the tracks and with the car selection process.

The car selection process is similar to how we chose cars for the old GT-I series. As long as NAGT itself isn't modded in any different way, I don't see how Tim will be against making it an official series. Trackwise, I think that list would be fine with the exception of Road Atlanta. I don't know of a "good", complete version of that track out there right now.

Sounds like an interesting concept, Mike. Its been a while since I've race with you guys, might have to join ya on some :)

Thanks for the tip on Road Atlanta, Conor. I'll compare to Infineon and go with whichever is better.

I'm not too sure about the car selection process. Let's say I'm leading the points. How long do I have to prepare a setup for a car? Personally, I'd like to be Randy Pobst and just be done with it. That way I can dream of being a rediculously good driver in a fine automobile like a Porsche GT3.

NAGT is Speed World Challenge GT, right? If so, then aren't you forgetting Watkins Glen? ;)

>How long do I have to prepare a setup for a car?

We used this scheme a few times back when the NASRL league was still out in the wild. I did the car assignment on Friday afternoons, so you're guaranteed to know before Friday night. But everybody's car preferences are posted publicly, so you have a good chance of finding out early if somebody below you in the standings is bumping your car choice. Most of the time people got what they wanted, but it can get a little tricky for the leader if we get a high turnout.
