I thought GTR Evolution was supposed to be out today. Did I miss something?

Edit: I went to Amazon and they say the release date is Aug 26. The comical part is that they pair it with Race 07 in their "best with" combo package, then later in the description say that Race 07 is included :D

I can't find it on Steam anywhere, but one of the sites I found with a Google search for the release date said that they had "100% preload"

I saw this a few days back:

http://www.virtualr.net/atari-postpones-gtr-evolution-release/

though I could not find any official link to back it up. One thing is for sure, there are many dates floating around the internets (probably because how it's being distributed globally?)

Obviously it does not appear to be coming out today (anymore), but they say "late August" now so who knows the exact date.

We will continue to push our fun-runs back day by day until we know more.

Damn, i cant be bothered with this GTR Evo right now. They released it on the worst possible game they could. I see nothing particularly good about race 07. The graphics are quite dated, yet horrible to fps. Quite the opposite of gtr 2, and general gameplay seems lacking.

They went to all the effort of patching the living daylights out of race 07 to make it GT compatible, when they had GTR 2 dangling in front of them.

Eh i dunno, but the release date could be another 10 years for me, i just don't understand what simbin are trying to achieve with this one.

I preordered mine at Gamestop a few weeks ago. They told me it won't be in until the 27th.

See richie, I did actually like Race07 for the immersion level.
Force feedback felt great, and there was better contrast and more realistic colors when you were in the cockpit. Hitting a wall didn't produce a huge "WHAM!!" that you wouldn't really run into in real life; but instead a nice "clunk" that sounds real.

Sense of speed in the open wheel cars was great in my opinion as well. Race07 doesn't have any kind of good interface though. Hope that gets improved.

I'd be extremely happy if somebody figured out a way to get the *exact* same FF feeling of GTR2 in RACE07/GTREvo.

I would also be ready to pay 15 Euros more if they included the new 997 Porsche, but it seems there aren't any??! :|
