Gentlemens Drivers Club
Well, here we go!

Ok guys, this is it. The most recognizable track of the series, with the cars that help to make it famous. It does not get a whole lot cooler than that.

Take some time to practice and invite a friend to join us. Looking forward to seeing all of you out there.

NO EARLY PUNCH OUTS....No matter how bad you think you are.

BTW --- How is it going for you all?

I've been practicing a bit. Love the new version of V8's. I can finally enjoy driving them.

Only question. Will the server be set to No Damage again like past GDC events? I was on practicing last night and it's at 100%. I'm thinking that with this track in particular, since it's such a tight cattle pen, we'll see an enormous amount of DNF's if the damage isn't turned off.

Pete, the new version of V8's?

I thought we were using the V8factor v1.2?

There is newer V8 mod, FVRV8_08 1.20.

The one Mark linked for us to download. V8Factor v1.2 is pretty new, right? That's the one I'm driving.

V8 FACTOR 1.2 IS CORRECT.

I will confirm with Tim -- NO DAMAGE.

Looks like a nice turnout for tonight.

How can I stop the rear end from spinout?

Posted by Pete Schlough at 04:15 PM on Jul 16, 2008 Post #10

1) Less throttle on some corner exits. Live rear axle doesn't like to move around a lot (in my hands).

2) Enter the downhill corkscrews slower so the rear is settled. These are my sudden death traps.

3) Lift off of brakes and throttle more gently.

That's the best I can offer in the areas I personally have trouble with. I haven't found a lot in the setups that cancels this out for me. I usually end up with fatal understeer. So I'm left with adjusting my driving. Best I've managed is a 2:18, but I doubt I could hold that for long before running really short on talent.
