Out of the blue, ARCA has stopped accepting steering input from my G25 wheel. All other inputs work just fine. It's just the wheel it's not reading.

Not only that, it's when I'm *in the car* that the input is missing. In the Controller screen I can turn the wheel and watch the Left-Right meter move like nothing is wrong. But the moment I go to drive... nothing.

Well... not entirely *nothing.* If I crank the wheel over past the 270 degree range I set in the Logitech profiler, I get little spikes of movement. But you really can't call it steering. Not by a long shot. It's like the controller is sending broken packets to the game which is struggling to interpret the input. Or something.

I updated to the latest patch several weeks ago, but I haven't really driven it much since. I did drive successfully for a few minutes when I fired it up earlier this evening, but then one time when I went from the garage screen to the cockpit, it just went away.

I have absolutely no problem in rFactor or GTR2. It's only ARCA that this is happening.

Please. For the love of god. What is going on?

No idea what's causing it, but did you try creating a new controller profile?

There is something very odd about the sim in this regard. I've experienced what Pete describes as well and I have only a junk MS sidewinder. A bunch of plateheads with which I race at another place have experienced this also w/ all kinds of different wheels. The theory is that if you internet connection gets weak, the controller settings degrade. This might also explain the "dropped cylinder" issue as well. Very bizarre and no one I know has ascertained the problem for sure or how to resolve it. Please dont get upset with this post; I am not casting aspersions on the sim itself.

After a complete wipe of ARCA, I reinstalled. Tested it bone stock (pre-patch), and everything worked fine.

Installed the most recent patch. Problem returned.

Wiped again to revert to bone-stock version. New problem.

Cockpit view is skewed about 45 degrees. Free-look sets my view into a perpetual tailspin.

Very confused.

On a whim, I unplug my secondary controller (the button panel from my MOMO, which I've mounted on the G25 wheel and run its cord to another USB port).

Bingo. Skewed view is corrected.

That's one problem I solved, but I tried this before when I originally lost steering input. So I doubt this 'fix' will correct that problem if I upgrade to the patch version.

This is so bizarre. I use both controllers in rFactor and GTR2 with absolutely no problems. They work in other racing games too. No clue why it would be such a problem in ARCA since it's rF underneath.

Still have to sort out the steering problem in the patched version. Until then, I'm running stock ARCA and can't race online.
