I thought the Championship qualifying series were suppose to change each season?

I just find it odd that most of the people who made the list in the series they ran in S7 are in the top 10 again in the same series for S8. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Will S9 be the same series again too?

If thats the case whats the point of running because the same guys that lapped you in the first 2 seasons are going to do it again.

I dont think it makes sense because everyone a fair chance to run.

I think if you make it on the list you've secured a spot and shouldnt be running in the same qualifying series again.

If you make the list in a champ qualifying Open wheel, or touring series, you shouldnt be allowed to run in another qualifying open wheel or touring series.

Again correct me if I've got it all wrong. Not trying to start anything I'm just not understanding how this is working out.

Well, another way to look at it is that if everyone was supposed to get into them there wouldn't be qualifying events at all. I know I've qualified for the touring car championships 3 times now but thats because I enjoy racing the WTCC cars so much and don't feel I should be restricted from that. If I've kept someone else out of the championships then I don't take any responibility for that because they have more chances, and if they don't manage to qualify then better luck next time, but that is the idea of qualifiers.
I haven't managed to qualify yet for open wheel or sports car because I haven't put in a good enough performance but I'm ok with that.

As far as who makes the list I never thought to look at it way I guess, I stand corrected.

Now as far as the qualifying series changing each season. Was that idea scraped?

My guess is that there are simply a lack of good top end championships and thats why they havent changed. For example, it wouldn't make sense for the nGTx series to be a championship qualifier because nGT isn't the pinacle of sports car racing, GT is. If there were a larger mix of top end sportscar championship mods available (eg, LMS, Prototype C, NAGT, etc) then we would be more free to mix and match from season to season but unfortunatley there aren't that many options right now. I can't be sure but I'd guess thats the thought behind it.

The qualifying series are the larger, more popular series that run on the weekends. It is possible for them to change but there was no reason for that between S7 and S8. Some of them are changing for S9, but they are still the same basic time/day slots since those are the times and days that the actual Championships will be operated.
