What do you think ? With such a low turnout the system doesn't work properly. We're almost all of us forced into slow cars.

I'm ready to remove the credit system as of right now. Let me know what you think about that.
It might make more people join, but that's not the reason why I want to do it.I just want us to have fun racing the cars we like and it's impossible unless we have a considerable bigger field which I don't see happening anytime soon.

Yeah, no good with not enough drivers - it cant work properly.
Maybe just allow all cars, but use the prior race finishing order to 'reverse allocate' what cars, coming down the list from the top.
eg If 6 raced, 6th pos get FW07, 5th gets Ligier, 4th gets T4 etc etc (or even skip down 2 ladder spot cars at a time).
That is easy enough to work out and post a pre-race list. No harder than doing the points was anyway.

And anyone new joining can have any car they want initially.

i'd be happy with removing race-to-race restrictions all together.

it's my least favorite thing about a series i really enjoy, but never get enough practice for, and often come to after just finishing a race in a very different car.

the way it is, before i can work on driving any particular track better, i have to focus first on resolving handling quirks in a car i may not even enjoy driving. then come race day and joining the server with maybe 15 or 20 minutes to go before qualifying, i usually discover that my setup solutions just don't work without a sufficient amount of time to re-acclimate myself to the car.

usually the first 1/3 of any race for me is just getting used to the car again. if i'm lucky i don't hit anything before i'm back to my practice pace. if i'm not lucky (Brianza last week), i'll take some minor damage in an early lap and suffer with poor handling all race.

with no restrictions, i'd still get my ass kicked every time, no matter what i drove, but at least i'd be able to work on improving a base setup, for a car i liked, on a track i knew well.

then i could focus my weekly practice more on driving better at the track we were going to race and hopefully not waste as much of the early race just getting used to the car again.

thanks for the input guys, the credit system is now officially removed as of right now. There will be no car restrictions.
If at some point we get a lot of people attending we can reconsider it.

Hi All,
I think it's a good decision Christian... i approve what Barret said!! it might make it more fun, cause we(i) sometimes ,easily put the car in the wall and don't have a lot of experience in the particular car we were forced to choose, and again, and again, so, i'm glad of the outcome and will be joining a few occasionnal races this summer, surely the one to my home town, Trois-Rivieres, and full cchip next winter!!.
Seeya!!

I still think a credit system is best, but well... if you want this to turn into a Williams spec season... I will race anyway.

It won't be fun winning in a Williams if the rest pick other cars though. And I don't like this much... "hey what car are you bringing? kind of, I don't want to abuse... what do I pick?". But who knows maybe it will come down to that.

I think what Peter proposes is much better than "nothing" though... with few people coming up... I'd do this... using only SIX FIRST POSITIONS:

(after Imola of course, we are too late for changing rules again)

Cars that can be used accordind to finishing position:

6 Williams and lower
5 Ligier and lower
4 Ferrari T4 and lower
3 Lotus 80 and lower
2 Renault RS12 and lower
1 Lotus 79 and lower

So we will use the BEST CARS, and have a more varied field. And of course it won't require much calculations... admin work for Chris E. on that matter.

Emilio: I understand your concern, but I don't think it will be an issue.
The first season I raced here at r2p didn't have any restrictions either and we had very varied fields each time.I'll pick the fw07 from time to time, but not every time.

Awesome! The credit system always put me off entering this! Too much faffing about IMO... I only choose the pretty cars anyway.
