Don't forget the really bad start you had last season and then really had a chance towards the end still anyway. Thanks to the scoring system. I haven't seen the replay to know the exact circumstances of this incident but you really have to take a lot of extra care when near anybody at all in these cars, especially at such a low wing track as Lemans, and even a lot more again if you get near a car you can see is notably slower. As occured, it can be race ending. Whereas extra safety to be sure can mean the race goes on fine. At the cost of time of course, but at least the race goes on then. I was chasing an 'equal lap time' car into the chicane area (lol, it was Roberto of course), and I was even caught out badly by the very early braking. You weigh up the other cars expected pace, based on their seen lap times, and then allow some extra leeway to be 'safe', and even then I was caught out notably! yikes! That was our own 'near fatal incident' on lap 1 or 2, where there was no way I was going to be able to slow any more than I was slowing. I had already pre-calculated (wrong it seems) how deep I could come in to narrow the gap right down between us by the chicane. So how hard is it when you close down on even slower and 'unknown car ability' other drivers when you converge into a very slow area?? Really dangerous!
Then in this case Milan would probably have caught right up to you, and probably got past Barrett in an open area run for an easy pass, and then you would be really annoyed at that time and advantage loss (I would be!). But it happens to people all the time (in sims and real racing too) and it is just an expected part of racing. Place safety above lap times, when it is appropriate. You are a very good driver, and I know how furious we can get when big efforts are destroyed in one quick flash! But I also know how more cases than not I can look at what has happened to me, and even though it truly was not my fault for it to occur, I could have driven a better way to increase my own safety leeway. (sometimes not of course).
Race the season to win over adversity and challenge in the long run. Not on a race by race viewpoint, or else you will be really upset too many times! lol

thanks for your POV, but it's not a matter of pace, i was far behind before Indianapolis turn, and i suddenly find a wall, just in the tighest turn of the circuit, bad timing.. bad place, and/or both togheter, thus I spun there was no space to even think an overtake, but I guess this is why real accidents become, just huge differences in speed. I just found a red slow thing in front of me. This makes me a not-good driver, even though I drive with extra care(see braking points or behaviour on Mulsanne) so i quit. I prefer to be a safe driver than a fast one, but, on the other side, I wish to avoid DNFs. |

And remember... this is not an official series... does not go into your ranking, thank god hehe, I have 5 DNF in 7 races last season, now that is frustrating. We should try to take this as a mix of competition and fun... although I know there is no fun in this crashes, people should make the complaints to the admin, and penalties issued. |
