I hate to bring up a negative issue here and Tim feel free to move this if you don't want it here. First of all, I have gotten a good feeling about NASA as soon as I started looking into this type of organization. This was long before I knew of any possible relationship between Tim, whom I have know for a couple years now in my Sim racing en devours, and NASA. As some of you know I have started doing some track days in the past year and plan on doing more. I am here in Salt Lake and unfortunately NASA only did 1 event here at Miller Motorsports park last year and it was before I was ready. I was a bit surprised when they didn't do any more but found out that it was the Rocky Mountain regions first real year so I figured ok, growing pains, should have some more stuff next year. Well the 2007 Calendar is out and it looks as if there is absolutely no NASA participation at MMP at all 2007. :( This is disappointing to say the least as I think I would really prefer NASA as an organization over the alternatives I will have here in Utah. This is doubly the case with my desire to support R2P and the great stuff that Tim and Todd are and are trying to do. Anyway I don't know what real point I am trying to make except the fact that I would really love to become part of the family but simply cannot justify it based on the total lack of a program in this area. |

Cruising through some NASA forum threads it appears NASA did have a weekend at Miller reserved but was bumped by MMP in favor of ALMS, and by that time both NASA's and MMP's schedules were too far filled to make any alternates work. |

Indeed. I'd LOVE to begin a tentative foray into the real world of motorsports, but the various programs that offer schools and competition are always a few states away. Here's hoping MMP (the closest to Colorado) gets some action in terms of programs such as the NASA. |

I know I have brought this exact subject up with Jerry (in fact we spoke about you specifically Darin). Im sorry that I do not recall the conversation exactly, but what I would recommend is finding your regional director (http://www.nasaproracing.com/aboutnasa/regions.html) and sending him an email or phone call. Call MMS too... It may be simply because of how new MMS is, and Im sure the NASA schedules are set pretty well in advance. |

The schedules being set 2 or 3 years in advance really wouldn't surprise me. It probably has to do with the licensing and contracts. If ALMS is contracted to run for the next 5 years at MMS (just an example) then I'm not surprised if part of the contractual negotiations included set dates hammered in stone. |

Well I think the biggest issue is that we are part of the Rocky Mountain region but all of that group are based in CO so it makes it difficult if not a non-priority to work on Utah events. Its just a bit ironic with MMP being such a premier venue in North America. On a positive note though Ray you would have a few events to choose from in CO, go to http://www.nasarockymountain.com/ for more info. |

By the way Tim the 5% discount on the HANS Device is not valid. I work for HANS in Sales/Marketing and the dealer advertising that is not one of our dealers. We are making sure that is corrected to avoid confusion. Any questions you can email me smetzger@hansdevice.com |
