Caparo T1 900 lbs lighter than my Lotus and twice the HP.

Production version has adjustable ride height so I can clear 90mm speed bumps :)

Better not toss out my nomex suit just yet.

Yeah, be prepared because things may get a little toasty early and often. That is NOT the most reliable car ever (considering that its basically an F3 car with a roof).

Sure as hell looks fun though! :D

Looks sorta ugly, but hardcore, think that's what I like in a sports car.

Think it's wheelbase is to long to be F3 based. And it has considerably more power than a 220bhp Formula 3 motor. Doubt it'll ever get US road legal status, but the Top Gear review of it was hilarious!! Topped the Top Gear lap time chart by a full 7 seconds, too bad they dumped the time because the version they had didn't clear speed bumps.

Yeah, probably has a 4 day warranty, 1 day for each $100,000 US invested (err...invested is a relative term).

I do have a friend that is thinking about trading his Lambo in for one if they ever do become US legal.

They just did a review of it on Top Gear. Will probably rerun more episodes this week if any of you have the BBC USA channel. Looks like it is a handful to keep it tuned and running though.

Top Gear:

Fifth Gear:

Either way, looks like a trade off between whether the amazing thrill is worth the risk of death! Oh yeah, then there's the quarter of a million pound asking price... :-/

I would have a go in it around slow bends before you buy it.
According to top gear (as seen above) and other sources, the wing doesn't kick in at low speed causing ridiculous understeer.

Not reliable, but something that (if you can keep running) would be an incredible investment.

Absolutely not worth it, especially considering all the sh*t that happened so far with the car and the Ultima GTR720.

1:12 -- Ultima GTR720 is 2 seconds slower than the Caparo T1.

But yeah, they have a few bugs to work out. But as I get older, cars like the Porsche GT3 or M6 begin to look more comfy on my old bones.

On a side note, I did take my Mom out for a spin in the Lotus on Easter Sunday -- she's 74 -- getting in/out was pretty involved, wish I had my camera.

Good lord, I thought you were joking about getting this thing, but it sounds like you're serious. And you seriously own a Lotus? How did you get so rich? Are you an american defence attorney??

Naaah, I don't think I would spend $400K on a vehicle.

My avitar is my Lotus -- what did you think I was gonna bring to the R2P get together at Thunderhill? My wife's prius doesn't make a good track car ;)
