Right on. Thanks for this, Tim. Also, with regards to team speak being required. Is it acceptable to be on teamspeak listening only? I don't have a Mic and don't want to get one because I don't like to use it during races anyways (another distraction). Will that be alright for HPDT? |

Is it critical to do the events in order Tim? |

It is ideal, though if you are comfortable in all the other areas and just want to focus on one, you may do so. |

You rock Tim! I've been through the HPDT "school" and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to have more fun. You will learn setup as well as driving...you will come out of the last session with a car setup for the Formula Trainer that is customize by you for you...there's no "right way" to make the car feel right for everyone, so Tim helps you learn how a car behaves and suggests what setup areas will help. Tim puts a lot of effort into these sessions...and they are dirt cheap...just send him a carton of smokes and he's there for you...well...OK you don't have to send him the smokes. Jonty: Tim is apparently fine with drivers taking the courses out of order; however, I tried to take them out of order and it didn't work for me. I couldn't feel how the car was handling because I didn't have the car stabilized like everyone else did from the previous session. It's definitely not a waste of time taking them in order even if you "think" you know about what is covered in the first session. Be sure to read the summary for each session...it's not like: Session 1: Using the steering wheel and brake.
Each tutoring session requires that the car be properly setup and the driver have a good "feel" for how the car behaved during the previous session. Trust me...you will gain much more knowledge if you take them in order. |
