It's clear I'm just not capable of driving these fantastic cars. I'm real sorry for what looked like a real dumb dive bomb move at the Long Beach hairpin. I braked at my normal point but the car just locked up and I was just a passenger with no control whatsoever!! I hope I didn't totally ruin the race of the cars I plowed through with nothing I could do to avoid the contact. I feel real bad about the contact and not being able to race with you guys. You have a great series here Christian, good luck for the rest of the season! : ) Well, only GT-O and the Amateur FT-A series left, guess that should be enough. Dan After looking at the replay, it's clear I did mis my brake point, which is why I was unable to make the turn - especially sorry to Ross, hope you didn't sustain too much damage from our contact. Ross, glad to hear you were able to continue. Believe me, I wasn't trying to pass anyone. My intent was to just follow and stay clear till things cooled down but just missed my brake point as I was paying too much attention to the car in front of me. Total noob mistake anyway, so good intentions aside, it shouldn't have happened. Oh, and Scott, downloaded the Rouen tracks - AWESOME!!!
And that's terribel news Scott, you had that one in the bag!!! : ( Thanks for the kind words Peter, but I also have some issues going on that make racing difficult (hard to concentrate with worries in the back of your mind). I'll be back for sure when I can get this other stuff resolved so I can put all my effort into my driving. Anyway, we had a power outage while you guys were still racing so I would have lost the connection and had the DNF anyway! LoL (I've unsubscribed from the series, that's why I can't make new posts) |

Hi Dan. No problem. Fortunately, I did see something in my mirrors hurtling down the inside. So I stayed a bit wider, and turned in late. So the contact was minimal. Fortunately with the 'damage factor' set as it is, I only got a bit of damage to my steering. I'd say keep coming to the events. The main thing is patience. Maybe for the first 5 laps, don't even try to pass. Just brake early, and follow the guy in front. (But not too close ;-) ) Once 5 - 10 laps have gone by, and you get in a bit of a groove. You'll be able to look to push. |

Funny thing about these cars is that the more I slow down and take it easy, the faster I tend to go, especially at street circuits. Then its just a concentration battle (which I lost today!!!). Come back Dan and don't let these awesome cars beat you!!! |

Yeah stick with it Dan!
So even if yo have to hang well back to assure things, your race is then with the car ahead. No matter if they are 2nd or 10th, all you care about is the competition with them.
It is very tough for slower cars to do their race and to also watch out for faster cars too! So that is an even bigger demand, which as far as I can see everyone does a really great job of! And for sure you (Dan) is one that stands out as always making 100% effort to do that well, and you do. So if you like, or love, racing these, then keep coming!
