Hey guys, I have got my new dedicated racing sim PC and my new G25 now, but the cockpit portion of my setup still remains to be resolved. I was quite set on the obutto cockpit, but the shipping to Canada is astronomical right now and it would more than double the price at least, unless he can work out a more reasonable program again. While I wait for Obutto to figure their stuff out, I am still also looking at other options, such as piecing my own together.

I started looking about and stumbled across this "Ultimate Gaming Chair" Raptor model. It's a gaming chair that's somewhat designed like a racing seat but with arm rests (but they are low, so I think they would be ok but could be removed otherwise) and it has built in CHAIR feedback.

Linky link

I haven't tried it out and it's going to be an expensive experiment if I decide to go for it (there's a local guy selling one for $300 claiming that it's brand new). If the whole chair can actually provide a decent rumble experience, I can't help but think that it would be the ULTIMATE (as they say) racing sim chair. It has built in speakers beside the head so I could plug the rear speakers into that and then run the front speakers as usual on my desk and it has some other swank features like built in massage function and stuff.

Has anyone here tried these things out? Too good to be true? Or could it be the solution?

If I went this route, I'd probably have to commission my brother to build me a wooden front-end to my sim racing cockpit which would just have a place to mount my pedals in a comfortable way (probably remove them from the base and mount them upside down on a panel like a real car) and then a surface for the screen and wheel to sit right in the perfect spot.

So, if you have feedback, bring it on.

Maybe check out Ivibe. They do basically the same but are made for PC sims. The support for Ivibe sounds like it is kinda slowing down though. I dont think that thing is going to work as good as it sounds just going by my experience with a LFE buttkicker. I could be wrong though.
