Enough with noob stuff. You've been to superbike school so you KNOW how to crash right. Right? |

Yeah, the camera-person was my wife, and she keeps kicking herself that she did not record the rest of the wreck... |

Did your wife wrench on the bike? Is your life insurance up to date? That could be the reason she stopped...;) |

Yes! She does like to wrench, and we both put the thing back together. My insurance is also all paid up, perhaps she wasn't scared, just excited at her possible new found wealth? |

man those Grattan vids bring back some great memories of a track weekend i had with the Windy City BMW club many years ago (running my '88 Fiero GT). looks like it hasn't aged well, well neither have i, but that's a different story. what a fun roller coaster that thing is! especially that blind hill just before where your clip starts. i can still hear it: "keep your foot to the floor... foot to the floor... keep it down until the car goes light... then lift... don't you dare touch the brake before the car bottoms out... or you're an accident..." easier said than done when the car goes light just as you see someone else starting to loose it at the bottom. just have to trust the physics. |

I love the gasp at the end right before the camera shuts off. Made me laugh. Wife, I'd assume? |

That hill/jump was fearsome, I saw guys getting air over that thing. I also saw one guy get air and go over the front of the bike, very scary stuff. My instructor said that track is one of the toughest in the country, because its nothing but turns and elevation changes. The straight that it has is very short. The jump and then the extremely off camber left hander (T3?), and the bowl caught a lot of people out that weekend. I am not sure I will ever go back to that track, at least not until I get much better at focusing. Just one lapse of concentration and your on your ass. I love Fiero's almost picked up an '88 GT manual a few weeks back, beautiful cars! |
