Initial tests indicate this is a 1-stopper.
Race laps will be in the mid to upper 58's to mid 59's.
I need to work on the dead slow double right hander.
My PB in race trim is a 58.1

Maybe I should start testing? What tires please for the race? Thank you. My goal for this mod is not speed but comfortable consistant laps. Thank you. I may give up spots just to ensure a finish. I want to score points in every race. Thank you. I am very new to open wheel cars, so any setup advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Have a GREAT day!! Thank you.

Well Craig, How do you pull off a private forum on R2P? Or is this something I need to set-up elsewhere?

Steve, if you are as easy on tires as craig is you can get away with soft reds, I on the other hand have found the medium reds last the entire stint for my driving capacities.

Started doing some reconnaissance laps last night with Jeff and Joe. Things happen in these cars quite quickly. Lotta fun I must say. This track will require some extreme patience, as it is much too narrow. Anyway, if you guys have any setup advice, race strategy advice, that would be great, as I am very new to this whole sim racing thing.

Last night I found a very soft suspension, med roll bars, 8/9 wing settings worked well for me. Med reds front and back. Approximately 1.3 gallons per lap fuel consumption. I think Jeff is spot on with race being a 2 stopper. Have not done a 25 lap run yet, but it appears that med reds should last 25 laps. I may play around with hard reds, as I might think about doing a short stint on soft reds and a longer stint on hard reds in lieu of 2 equal stints.

Later Cuervo Craig! ;-)

Keep it on topic Steve :)

Sorry.

Craig, I have that Watkins Glen setup you need for the Lotus 80 mk1. It is fast in my hands, which means it will be faster in your hands.

And good luck in your CC Denver race this evening!

Freakin Topic Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

Keep it on topic Steve :)

I am looking at a 1-stopper, 2-equal stints with the exception of lap traffic which may affect my strategy for a lap or either direction, my fuel economy along with my medium reds will let me go 25 laps easily, I can push it to lap 29, if needed.

I cannot pass very well w/o wing on my car, I can go 2-wide in most areas with a top speed of 309 KPH on the back stretch, I am nearly flat out everywhere else, but after my testing i think i might have gone the wrong way with my tire pressures, I try to get the rear temps nice and tapered in the rear and they over cook which make me loop it in the double right hander aarrgghh. But as steve eluded to was a softer set-up which mine was pretty pink at Laguna it just isn't happening for me here.

I did an offline test of 25 laps and I had 3 red cubes left on my tires, so another 4 laps will be no big deal.

My biggest issue is I can test all by myself with confidence but once i hit the server i get this all I need to be more competitive thought process going and makes me want to hot lap and throw away consistency, what pisses me off more is i didn't have this issue with GTR, but now that I am rfactor only and b/w the two super teams of GER and LMTC i am throwing races away to where better judgment prevailed b/4 S5.
