(LOL... My title is a tribute to Adriano's flaming exit from R2P yesterday...)

Heya Fellas.

Just wanted to get some feedback as to your Imola practice schedule. I did some prelim. testing of the Saleen at Spa and Anderstorp last night. Why not Imola you ask? LOL... Spa and Andersdork were the only online servers available. I figured Spa was a good "all-around" track to test the Saleen.

My initial thoughts: I'm gonna have a time adjusting to the low end power of the Saleen vs. the Lambo. The Lambo (to me) has a very smooth bottom end power curve where the Saleen comes on like the thunder. Also, it appears to me, balance of the car is very important here with the Saleen. Does it have a tendency to want to push?

Just some thoughts. Good looking cars. Kinda "Darth Vader" -ish.

I'm lookin forward to this race. The Saleen sounds great, can be damb fast i'm sure and not to mention, I love Imola.

Lemme know about the practice, aight?

Fish, I am going to do some practice in about 5-6 hours or so. I will log onto TS. If that time suits you as well, we can meet up and do some practice somewhere online?
Would be great :-)

Greetings super sub driver dude!

Ya, took me a while to learn the Saleen. What I know at this point:

Tires are very good for about 5-10 laps then drop off a tad, but will stay consistent for the remainder of the stint.

Car pushes like a pig in mid corner, and can snap oversteer on exit if throttle application is not smooth.

Car seems to like stiff rear springs.

You MUST have tire temps in the 190-210F range to get any grip at all, lap times are very dependent on tire temps it seems.

Keep the revs below 6300 rpms and above 3000 rpms, that is the sweet spot for power and torque. If you rev the motor much past 6300rpm often, especially on downshifts, it wont take long for the motor to blow up, so watch your downshifts.

Car is VERY fast down the straights, it is the strength of the saleen.

The brakes are HORRIBLE in my opinion. Maybe the worst brakes out of all the GT cars, I just cant get the car to slow down the way the lambo or the ferrari does.

I can practice anytime after 8pm EDT just about any night this week, except Friday, I am running the 79's Friday. I can also throw up a server for us to use if needed. I am absolutely struggling at Imola with the Saleen. I can not find a setup that works or a line that is fast. I think I should be in the lwo 43's or even 43 flat, and I struggle to get into the high 44's at Imola in the Saleen. SO, I am not sure how much good I can offer, but I will try.

Wanna run some laps tonight? I can send you my POS setup work in progress if you would like. Let me know.

If you have the availability, I would really like to turn some laps Wed and Thurs nights. Maybe after 8PM eastern?

TR and I began prelim set work tonight. After 8 laps, best Icould get was a low 46. I guess I got spoiled by the Lambo. It's MUCH more suited to my leadfoot style of driving. So far the Saleen is like driving on ice compared to the Lambo to me.

But, that's why I got started so early. I have plenty of time to get used to the car and get a comfy ( meaning survival minded) set ready.

All you need is seat time Fish. I will be online tonight no later than 8:30pm EDT. If R2P doesnt have a server up, I will. I will name it Race2Play_Steve. Standard default password. One thing I have noticed about Imola, is if the track temp is belwo about 80F, then softs are required on the front to get any grip at all. Wear is a little high, but might be managable. Thanks again David!

Yeah, this week aint workin out for nothin. I was all set while at work to go home and tackle The Saleen at Imola. Got home, the wife had arranged for my terrorists to go through overnight mental warfare training at their fundamentalist home base (meaning their friends had a sleep-over EhehehEhehehehe) and I came home to a wife that was pawing the ground and looking a little...............hmmm........how you say, anxious?

Early bed time for me. ROFL!!!!!!!
