We are pleased to announce that Simbin Studios has supplied Race2Play members the ability to "borrow" full versions of... Simbin, in conjunction with Race2Play, offers Standard and Premium members of Race2Play a way to try the full retail software at no-cost and no-risk. Just like a visit to your local library to check out a book to read, Race2Play members will be able to "check out" a copy of RACE to use for a short period (1 to 2 weeks depending on demand). Race2Play members can even participate in our regularly scheduled World Touring Car series which uses RACE. Use the time to give the simulation a good work-out. Run on any server and participate in as many races as you like. Both Race2Play and Simbin are confident that once you have tried RACE, you will want more. Just download and install Steam and Race2Play will supply you a Steam login, valid for the loaner period. Download and install the pre-paid RACE software through Steam, and you are ready to RACE! To schedule your loaner period, visit the RACE Loaner Page |

Just a ??? or 2, What does the game retail for? I will wait to hear the response from the technical scrutinizers of Enis and Connor first. Also could there be a fun run or two installed as a "west" series for the people who work in this world having a chance to attend :) or for the people all they do is work :( |

Jeff, you can get the game for $19.99 now. On 22nd of June there's expansion pack coming (which you'll have to pay for), 3 Caterham cars and 2 "new" tracks, it will probably increase the price too, though I don't think it will be above $30 (not the expansion pack but the whole game). |

Nice perk for R2P members, whether we eventually decide RACE is a keeper or not. Well done Tim & Todd! |

To those that have never tried or havent tried RACE recently; Ironically, one of my biggest turn-offs was the Steam distribution, but as it turns out Steam has been great. Simbin has released a dozen or so patches for RACE and the software gets automatically updated. I know my copy of RACE is always up to date and as bug-less as possible all with no effort on my part. Some of the guys here helped me fix my dark-cockpit problem (a tick of gamma is all that was needed) and it was my own doing that caused my super-lagging (dont try to mess with the RACE .PLR files). Anyway, I think you guys should give it a shot again. I was pleasantly surprised when I did. |

I raced at a league that started having a wtcc night. I just couldnt get on with it at all, but I will say I know people who love it. Graphically its beautiful, but for some reason I just dont get on with it. One thing i hate about it is the user interface. GTR and GTR 2 are great in that you can see what is going on, chat, all from a central console. With RACE you have to go in and out of different menus. Thats an awful step backwards. |
