I've tried pretty hard to race with no driving aids. But I'm still having trouble performing the actual heel-toe technique. I'm now trying a few races with auto-clutch and sequential shifting. Obviously I won't be racing for the team in those races. I need to build up my skills and confidence so I can move from a weak-knee backmarker to a sturdy-knee backmarker or even a week-knee midfielder. About the only thing I'm good for now is staying in the race.
