No auto-gears, haven't you lot heard of RSI? lol

I'd like to run the F1's as I think the mod is very good but a lot depends on time slot, already involved in, GTC, GT3Cup, F3, historic GTL thingy and soon I hope the GTR2 V8's.

I can see another divorce on the horizon!!!

Thanks Andy for the reminder regarding auto-gears, I included it (it is no advantage that is for sure).

As for a time/day; Likely on Sat or Sun at an available time suitable for both Euro and USA participants. I think that puts it about early-afternoon (USA East) on Sat or Sun.

Just curious, why would you limit this to only Premium members?

Most future "addon-series" will have a Standard or Premium membership requirement which will be dropped as the popularity of the addon declines.

Actually there is plans for an additional "Formula-2" series that would be open to all. It would be with the Forumla IS cars, not an addon.

Well I don't have much interest in this because I have come to believe over my sim racing career that an F1 sim is really difficult to do. The cars are just too damn fast and stuff comes at you too fast and any contact at all is a race ender. Lets face it in reality the real F1 is not a very good race series, its just that it is the pinnacle so us tech'ies and Grans Prix'o'files are hooked, but its far from the most exciting racing.
That being said we do have some experience in it from back in the F1rst2 days using F1c. We did a complete season in 2004 using the RH2003 mod, and dabbled a bit in the early RH2004 stuff. RH2004 made things even easier and faster and IMO even harder to run a good sim league with it.
Based on this I think it would actually be better to not allow ABS or TC, as this will just speed things up. I really don't care about Auto shifting but no serious F1 league's "advanced" group should really run with any aids besides clutch IMO. Having no aids will at least create a bit more careful driving and bring the speeds down a bit i think.

Darin, the real cars had/have TC. A low or med setting is up in the air, but no setting is un-driveable with these cars. TC actually slows you down... I ran tried both low and med in the fun-run a few weeks back and was significantly faster using low over med. This is NOT F1c that is for sure.

ABS is up in the air with me actually, and Auto-shift has always been allowed (for years now) for those that require it to prevent double-shifts.

I am not say anything about being the most elite or "advanced" group of racers. That can be reserved for yet a whole different series :)

yeah I realize its a double edged sword, most of the big F1 leagues have run 2 classes as did F1rst2. One class for no aids and another based more on whatever the real cars ran for that particular year.

I agree I don't have a problem with auto shift its way slower anyway.

Undriveable may be a good way to describe it too, since in the F1rst2 leagues we often had less than 50% finishers, and it was run in 5 driver heats :P
