I put on a pretty weak performance. I practiced on Sunday and was very happy with my setup and performance. I was out of town until Thursday afternoon and got sick to boot. I just couldn't get a solid lap down. I could tell that I was just lazy in the corners and couldn't get my rhythm down. I was just happy that the race was over.

Nice work Kamran and Max on the race.

Congrats to Garret and Max for the Drivers Championships.

In case anyone missed it, 25 Motorsports took both the DP and GT Team Championships. Nice work fellas.

Congrats to Kamran and Andrey! Great job guys.

This DP season has taken some twists and turns. A fast new driver (Kamran) repeatedly putting the Doran on the podium was quite unexpected, but welcome. Garret and his pit strategy keeps making life interesting.

I should have learned my lesson by now, but I took tires at the halfway mark. Didn't help me at all.

My times improved slightly during the race as I got a better feel for turning in under heavy braking. There were a couple of times where a 1:30.x would have been possible, but for the traffic.

Also, the speed limit is imposed pretty late after the lights. While I took the time to try to determine the location, I was too conservative on my pit entrance. Looks like I lost some time by slowing down too early.

Garret - Congratulations on the DP Championship! I think the only way you can lose at this point, is if you don't make it next week.

Congrats Kamran. Way to enter with a bang. Congrats to Garret and David on the DP podium. Sam - 4th is f'n awesome! Great work.

Max - another nice drive. Gilbert - great job! Ralph - Congratulations.

I crashed all by myself in/around turn 2/3 during the last stint. The car got away from me and I swerved 3 or 4 times, but couldn't catch it. I had a pretty good pace going. Ah well. I'm 0/2 at Rouen.

What an amazing race! I squeaked by David to get the Pole by about the same gap that I lost to Garret!

I ran a solid race and only made one error the entire race. Coming out of the last horseshoe onto the oval, my rear end got loose (that's what she said) and I drove into the grass costing me about 6-7 seconds.

I ran a standard pit strategy - no services at mandatory pit, gas/tires at 30 min and 60 min. Garret fueled at the mandatory pit and then took tires/gas with 40 minutes remaining. Garret and his mad pit strategies. When he came out, I said to myself, "There is no f*&%ing way he can go 40 minutes on a tank of gas! He's going to have to get a splash of fuel and won't change tires" which is what he did, per our post race conversation. But I feared that he would somehow stretch out the fuel for 40 minutes, so I put all my focus into closing the gap. With one less pit stop than me, Garret led by 45 seconds after the second round of pits. I was able to narrow it down to about 40-41 seconds with 6-7 minutes remaining.

FINALLY, I saw the gap declining as Garret was in the pits. Who would come out ahead? It was Garret. He came out with about a 5 second gap, but with his aging tires, I closed the gap up very quickly, but I couldn't get around.

I got up next to him before the bus stop, unfortunately on his right, but couldn't see him in my mirrors so I took a conservative line to make sure we didn't both crash out and followed him out.

Next lap, I took a run after the bus stop and was almost next to him by T1, but traffic got in the way. I bobbled a bit and the gap opened to about 0.8 sec.

The last lap was my last shot. I came out of the bus stop behind him and got in the draft. As you can see from the picture, it wasn't quite enough - I finished 0.051 seconds behind.

Congrats Garret! Well played. Great job Max!

That race held short bursts of excitement in between long periods of me trying to maintain my focus. The start was humorous - Mike got out ahead of me as we lined up and I shot past him. I think Goat drafted by too before the first turn.

Pretty soon, Mike got on my tail and I was feeling the heat. He attempted a draft pass on the back straight, but I edged over to keep him behind. I was surprised that the Porsche could pull me. The next time around, he had a mishap - he mentioned that my car froze for a second and it resulted in an off for him.

After that, I had a comfortable lead until after my second pit (of three, including my mandatory). I took tires and fuel and came out 18 seconds behind Garret. After 10 minutes passed, I figured out that he was going to try to run only two pit stops, so I knew I'd better make up time and fast. I pushed but, at first, I didn't gain much ground. After about 5 minutes, the gap started to drop, probably as Garret's tires became worn. With 37 minutes left, I was right behind him as he headed into the pits. I stayed out for a few more laps. I knew that our pit stops would be crucial and figured I would emerge from my pit stop about the time he would come around. After my pit, I was surprised that he was 30 seconds down. I understand now he received a penalty.

I had some luck come my way. Too bad it was the result of the bad luck of others.

Congrats to Garret and Mike in the DP class and Max, Michal, and David in the GT Class. Well done guys.

That was a crazy race. There was some kind of mayhem in the Corkscrew the first time through. I crested the hill and saw Goat coming across the track backwards, and ran right into him. Luckily, I made it through, behind Mike. I didn't see anyone in my mirror immediately and figured that the crash must have taken a lot of victims.

Mike and I continued on, P1 and P2. We had equal pace after that, and he had a 4-5 second lead, so I just focused on moving forward. Eventually, he had a mishap in the Corkscrew and I squeezed by. But, it wasn't long until he was breathing down my neck. Talk about pressure.

Coming into the last turn, Mike took a look to the inside as I was closing the door. We touched and I spun off the track. Mike graciously waited for me to re-enter the track and keep my position. That was a really stand-up move, Mike.

We continued on, but then I goofed. Approaching the Andretti Hairpin, I rear ended Andrey as we entered the turn - sorry Andrey. It was my responsibility to make a clean pass and I didn't get it done. Mike got by during that mishap and got out ahead by 4 or 5 seconds after that.

I think there were about 5 minutes left at this point. For about a lap, Mike held his ground, but then I started to pull him back in. It almost seemed too easy. By the last lap, I was less than a second behind and caught up to him going up the hill to the Corkscrew. I drove right around him on the downhill left hander and just kept driving forward not sure what had happened. By the time I got to the S/F straight, he was way back and someone said, "Mike ran out of gas!". What a way to end a race.

Congrats to Mike and Ethan for the DP Podium. Congrats to Andrey, Max, and Michal on the GT Podium. Andrey - I'm glad I didn't blow your race.
