That was a mighty fun race with a lot of action throughout for me. End of lap 1 I was 7th but could not keep it and fell to 9th. But the getting there was a hoot as there were prolonged battles with Daniel G, Rob M, Bryce, Mike G, and Dustin. A few very light touches that my painters will have to touch up but other than that a perfectly clean race in very close quarters from time to time.
Mike G, since I'm a novice Volva driver, when you went by me I thought "Alrighty, I wonder how his tyres are holding up...if he pits I'll pit". Then I thought the better of it and stayed out...I had less than one square on the LF at the checkered. Those were some nervous laps and it meant I could not really mount much of a challenge when Daniel came up on me in the closing laps. I tried, Daniel, but you had way too much for me and my failing car.
Congrats to the winners!

Okay, that was my first multi-class event. Oh my but you Fabcar dudes fill the mirrors quickly! "oh, he's waaay back there...don't have to worry about him for anoth-HOLY CR$P!"! It took some getting used to. I was guilty of moving aside rather than letting the overtaking car make the move as the rules state, but I think I did it fine and with enough leadtime that there was no trouble - but I will do better next time by holding to the racing line and letting you guys pick me off. I know it's safer, but it's rather scary the first time racing with y'all.
My race went off pretty well. I knew tires would be a big issue so I decided that, with the slow pitlane, I'd bide my time and go the distance on one set. I was down to one red dot but made it. It was hard to not let'er rip in fast lefts when I could see others dancing away from me.
Glenn, I felt a bit guilty I must admit. I am scared of the exit of that corner and so always take a shallow exit line. I also didn't take the time to look in the mirror...otherwise I would have moved over so you could see the incident. Pet your cat for me and say I'm sorry, eh? : )
Otherwise, it was a good race until I mistakenly let Mike Guzman by thinking he was a leader. I didn't have car labels turned on, dang it. I might have held you off, Mike, but you were just fast enough that there was no way to hunt you down once you were past. I wanted to...tried to...but you had too much for me...Well done, Sir! We had quite a moment there when the leaders came thru, eh? How did you manage to get back ontrack so dang fast? When you went into the sandpit I wrote you off as at least a few seconds behind me. I'm sure the leaders were leaving stains in their drivers suits right about then...I know I was. Glad we all made it thru in fine order with the rubber side down!
Cheers, and congrats to the Podium-ers!
Michael

Great race tonight, fellas. Bryce, Robert, Barrett, Mike E: had a good race with y'all - thanks for the fun!! Plenty of 'pressure from the rear' by each of us at times, eh? Sorry I had to crash and muck up the fun, but that's my achilles tendon: concentration.
Paul Valentine, we had a bit of contact and judging from the replay I felt it was rather mutual (it seemed as though you overcooked a bit and I turned into you a bit), but if you feel I was at fault then I offer an apology. It was my intention to let you by but I also did not want to give up time to 3rd as I felt I was closing at the time. I probably tried to split the hair once too many times on that corner: My apologies, mate.
I hope I did okay on my first outing that I can come play with y'all again!
Cheers,
Michael Leister
