Race report
Vintage GT: Crystal Palace on Mar 01, 2010
Car: Triumph TR4. Class: P&G. Start: 6. Finish: 5. Laps: 59.

Interesting race...not particularly but it sure had its moments of high anxiety. I hadn't re-booted into XP early enough for a virus scan and had the computer wanted me to address it - I closed the warning and went into the game. Q'd a little better than I thought I might and got off to a good start. 6th or 7th and chasing Mike Miller - relax cuz I won't catch him. Chris came up from behind in the Alfa (jr?) and I couldn't hold him off he watched for a lap or two and knew he could carry speed into the right after the long straight and get underneath me without either of us losing much time if any. I had to hold off Stan(?) a couple times where he would get close and drop back a second or two. On lap 12 going down the back straight up pops my desktop - YIKES!!! I scrambled to find the mouse and bring GTR2 back up and found myself heading towards the turn in the grass and only lost 1-2 seconds - whew. There were two gulps moments with cars having spun in front of me in the T1/T2 complex and I managed to avoid any contact whatso ever - fortunate a little again. I was 7 or 8 seconds behind Bryce who had been about a half second faster most of the week and entered the pits on lap 33. After the exchange I came out with a 7 or 8 second hold on 5th much to my surprise. And the gap really didn't shrink either - possibly the difference in speed because he had been harder on the tires. From there it was a matter of letting Gary by a time or two - I think I got one of them back through the pit cycle - and then just staying clean. This was one of my most consistent races for lap times ever - I was never blazing fast but I never really missed any of my brake points - and I stayed focused the entire 60 laps so this weeks paint job will carry over to Warwick.....

And congrats to Gary for racking up the win and valuable team points and to Hernan for a solid points finish as well. They know we are back there guys - keep pushing!!!
