Congrats to Claus, well done!

Well that was another interesting event -- I had a "scary" setup for Qualifying -- a setup I could never race and finish - so opt'd for a conservation race setup. First part of qual was pretty dry, no tire spray just rain drops, but as qual progressed I started to see more tire spray so I was pretty happy to get one good lap.

After helping out Kent with his launch control system, that left me a sitting duck as I was consumed by the wolves leaving me in 10th place - dangerous place to be.

Got out of the 1st chicane in a tight group ... heading into the 2nd chicane I see a red Ferrari coming in way to hot and OUT of control. Try to leave my turn in as late as possible hoping he/she would fly off into the sand trap before I had to turn in...well I ran out of "forgiveness" road and had to turn for the corner and took a huge hit to the driver side (knocked the beer out of my hand) that sent me flying into the sand trap -- fortunately didn't stall it.

Hobbled out of the sand trap to find myself in 12th place many seconds down. Car was pretty beat up from impact with Kent and now this new damage made it for a long long race. I did the best I could with a damaged car that was difficult to drive. I was able to get up to 7th maybe even 6th place then I pitted ... I thought about having the crew repair the car but I figured that would probably add a good 90 seconds to my pit stop ... so I elect to continue with a fuel only stop.

Somehow I came out in 5th with Mark and Jeff behind me but Brian ahead of me. I was able to close to Brian, but the rear start getting very unstable on the curbs, tire wear was still good (med/med) so not really sure what the problem was just guessing it was damage related. Made a mistake (curbing) right behind Brian and Mark got by, then I could see Jeff closing fast but not much I could do. Wasn't going to make it easy for Jeff, but I knew I would eventually have to give the spot up -- but then he did a 1/2 spin at the 2nd chicane and the pressure was off.

I hobbled the car home for 7th.

Definitely not the way I wanted this race to go, but it was still a blast to stick it out and do the best I could with my situation.

Congrats to all the finishers.

Interesting race, got pushed off track twice and the race seemed to end prematurely - had 6 mins left then suddenly checkered?

Got a great start and slotted into 3rd spot only to be shunted wide at Variante Della Roggia (2nd chicane) -- someone trying to pass on the outside going in -- come on 1st lap, I know you know better. My mistake to even give room, only to be shunted for doing so.

Spent the rest of the 1st stint reeling Joco and Mark back in, finally caught up to them only to get too visually involve in Mark and Joco's battle forgetting my own driving and ran it a little wide Ascari.

Lost a bunch of time in the pits (took on way too much fuel), and came out in 10th. Fighting my way back thru the field and then while side by side in the curva grande heading toward Roggia I was methodically forced onto the grass?? Is there a limit to how many times one can "adjust" their line to block? Next time I'll take the door to door contact rather than avoidance in the grass.

That said, it was still a fun event and the RS does indeed seem to have more straight speed than the RSR. Good to be running the nGT cars again, I love these Porsches.

Congrats to Darren! Great win.

Congrats to Keith and Matjaz, job well done.

It's good to be doing some Race07 again after a long absence and my first event in the Mini. I was able to put in a couple of hours of practice which helped, but I was still too inconsistent.

Got a good start and pulled along side Matjaz but didn't have enough to pass so had to breath the throttle going into hi-speed left hander and hold my position. After that it was a case of trying to hold onto my position. Keith and Matjaz were slowly checking out.

Les was behind me keeping on the pressure. To keep up a good pace at this track I had to be very precise, smallest of errors really hurt my lap times. I made a few small mistakes but fortunately no major ones and held onto 3rd.

That was a wild one, enjoyed it. Tried to stay out of trouble, may have nudged Mike a little going into Lycee under the brakes, sorry Mike. He kept his front spot so I assumed no harm no foul.

Bryce was clearly faster, but it seemed everytime he passed me he was off in the wall, or the kitty litter, or grass and I'd re-pass back into 2nd spot. So Bryce once again caught back up and I pretty much got out of his way since he was a full second faster. Figured he might stand a chance at chasing down Mike who after the pit stops had 37 sec gap -- nice job in the pits Mike.

Speaking of pits, is there a pit speed limit? I would come into and exit the pits putting along at 3K rpm in 1st, had no idea if I was speeding or not.

Great fun all around. Interesting track configuration, had LOTS of air time. :)

Congrats to podium, great result!

Really enjoyed the race, some great battles. My apologies to a couple of drivers I rubbed fenders with, tried to keep it as clean as I could. Race start was good, but I seemed to be lacking in power or I had the wrong gearing or something, everyone would just walk away from me in the straights including Garry and Michael, so I must have missed on the setup. This made my race very difficult as I could get great corner exit and pull along side only to be left for dead when I got into 4th.

I had no pit strategy, just filler up to max and put on new rubber -- which I guess I didn't need -- oops.

Great fun, great competition. I'll try to come with a little more prep next race so I can attempt a serious challenge to podium spot.

But more importantly, I got P&G working well on my computer, no issues. Took Mike's install advice which seemed to do the trick.

Until next race.

Rob.

Congrats to Joco and Ari and finishers.

It's been a long time since I was behind the wheel of a GTR2 car, I was slow but enjoying myself. For some reason I couldn't enter with the BMW, kept getting booted, so I tried the Porsche and was let in.

I'd pretty much forgotten the best car to use, but the sea of white, red, and blue in front of me was certainly a clue I wasn't in the "preferred" car. Ooops, oh well, it was still a blast -- surprisingly I remember how to do pits stops. Didn't have much practice and no time to come up with a fuel load and/or tire strategy so I winged it.

All good,

Rob.
