Setup Development Tool released

Tim McArthur, whose articles on setup theory have been much read and quoted over the years, has turned that knowledge into a freely available interactive Setup Development Tool (requires Microsoft Excel). The tool is used much like a driver would use a crew chief or engineer: You provide it with input describing the behavior of the car, and the tool responds with setup suggestions and their intended effects. It's not a quick fix to a hot lap, but an ongoing process to developing a race-ready setup. The tool was initially used by participants in the High Performance Driver Tutoring program to great improvement in understanding the car and the effects of setup changes. |
