25.4.2 - Punting

Punting
Any driver who "punts" another car, either off track or into a spin, on the first lap must serve a drive-through penalty (beyond any stop for repairs) for each instance. If your front bumper makes contact with another car during the first lap, and that car is knocked off track or spins, you have a drive-through penalty under all circumstances. You may not be informed of this penalty by the Steward, but you are still required to serve the drive-through. Failure to serve the penalty will result in a minimum of 1 lap deducted from your finishing position. NOTE: Many choose to follow a "gentleman's rule" with accidental punting; If you punt someone, you wait for that driver to return to the track and offer his position back. Do not stop on track to wait for the other driver. You are effectively penalizing yourself and saying sorry at the same time. While Race2Play does not enforce this as a rule, you will find that this gesture will gain you much more respect from others then no gesture at all.
