A Team can be formed by any Standard or Premium member
Team Creation
To create a team, go to the Sim Racing/Teams page. There you will find a link to "start new team". The team creation window will expand, and you can now enter your new Team information;
Team Name - The name you want your team to be known by. This will be displayed to the rest of the community.
Description - A brief summary of your team. This will also be viewable by any visitors to your Team's web page.
Open Join - If "yes", then anyone can join this team. Set to "no" if you prefer to invite team-mates.
Open View - If non-team members can view the Team's Blog
Open Post - If non-team members can post to the Team's Blog
Inviting team members
A team owner only need to browse to each potential team-mate's Driver page (use the Search function) and "invite" that person to the team.
Scoring of Teams
Teams are scored in the same general fashion as a Driver in a series with one critical difference; all team members have an effect on the team standings. This means that if one driver does poorly, then it drags down the rest of the team as well.
Team Points are calculated by a total of all team member race points, divided by the number of team members in that specific event. This allows a 2-man team to compete against a 12-man team. However, a 1-man team is penalized by still being calculated as a 2-member team... it isn't a team with only one person, right?
Teams also get a Rank score based off the same calculations as a Driver Rank.
Hints
- You can form as many teams as you like
- Form 2-man teams for specific series. Some series will require or limit team size.
- Form a large team for ALL your buddies.
Be aware that if your Standard or Premium membership expires, your Team will be unusable by all team members.
